The Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) is a government-approved tenancy deposit protection scheme in England and Wales operated by The Dispute Service Ltd.
The Housing Act 2004 requires landlords and letting agents to protect deposits on assured shorthold tenancies in a scheme such as ours. The TDS provide insurance-backed tenancy deposit protection with free, impartial dispute resolution for when disagreements arise over how the money should be divided at the end of a tenancy. The Property Redress Scheme is a new, straightforward and easy to use consumer redress (ombudsman) scheme for Property Agents and Professionals.
The main purposes of the Property Redress Scheme are to allow Agents to comply with their legal requirement to be a member of a government authorised consumer redress scheme and to settle or resolve complaints made by consumers against our Members.
Our Members and consumers will both benefit from our simple three-stage process to resolve the complaint:
- The Member will first be given an opportunity to resolve the complaint directly
- The Property Redress Scheme offers a mediation service
- The Property Redress Scheme Ombudsman will make a binding decision on the complaint

When I started Let Me Properties back in 2008, I was only 20 years old. Even then, I knew I wanted to build a business that would be my legacy.
